Homeschool Day Afternoon

This event is no longer on sale.

Wednesday April 16

1:00 PM  –  2:30 PM

Homeschool students and their adults are invited to come to CBMM’s Homeschool Day, selecting either a morning or afternoon program to focus on the history and people of the Chesapeake Bay.

Students ages 9-18 will uncover the stories of freedom seekers in the Chesapeake by examining primary sources. Through analysis of objects, architecture, landscape, and song lyrics, students will explore how enslaved people, living in proximity to the Chesapeake’s marshes, creeks, and rivers, used their access and knowledge to self-emancipate.

Students ages 4-9 will explore history through placed-based role play activities that examine what life was like for lighthouse keepers, watermen, and crab pickers.
