Friday March 29

1:00 PM  –  2:30 PM

Homeschool students and their adults are invited to come to CBMM’s Homeschool Day, selecting either a morning or afternoon program to focus on the history, culture, and environment of the Chesapeake Bay region through hands-on activities.

This spring homeschool students will participate in CBMM's Chesapeake's Best Crab Cakes Immersive Program. Students learn about Chesapeake geography, biology, and economics by following the blue crab on its journey from the brackish Bay to our picnic tables. The program focuses on the people who earn their livelihood from the crabbing industry. Students aged 5-11 will learn through role play and hands-on activities. New this year, students aged 12-18 will use primary sources, discussion, and hands-on activities to explore the various cultural, economic and biological impacts of the crabbing industry.

Cost is $5 per person. Accompanying younger siblings 5 and under are free. All participants must register in advance.
