Full Moon Paddle

Join CBMM ACA certified staff for two evening paddles to enjoy the evening sunset and the full moon. Native American Tribes gave moons names as a way of tracking the seasons. July’s Moon is called the Full Buck Moon and is the very first full moon of the 2023 summer. The Full Buck Moon takes its name from the time of year when antlers start to appear on male deer.  July’s Moon is also referred to the Hay or Thunder Moon.

Participants will launch from Oak Creek Landing in Newcomb, MD exploring along Oak Creek and the Miles River. This paddle provides a wonderful opportunity to view the sunset and moon rise from the stillness of the water. Paddles are good for both the beginner and the intermediate paddler.
